Welcome to my world.

Much of the summer I spend flying clients around Alaska. The rest of my time I devote to nature photography in many styles. From aerials to macros and IR to intimate animal portraits. Please take time to look around the web site. I am in the process of re-organizing the images to make for easier access to the types of images you want to see.

Any and all comments are greatly appreciated. Let me know you are out there.

You can order my dvd or custom prints directly from me, just use the 'email me link' below, or my new address is stadsklev@gmail.com Drop me a line if you would like to be a 'client' and be advised when new material becomes available.

More photo safari to remote glaciers and volcanoes are in the planning for 2009. If you are looking for a custom photo safari, drop me an email. I will leading trips to remote locations for one day, or possibly overnight excursions. Prices vary depending on the number of participants, but groups remain small less than 6 photographers on any tour. I have some truly unique distinations in mind that I do not publish so as to keep the traffic down. Drop me an email and we will see what I can arrange for your vacation up here.

Two of my images were selected to tour Alaska with the Rarefied Light juried exhibit.
The Anchorage Museum collection committee has selected my image "Secret Stream" for their permanent collection. I am very honored and pleased by that decision.

Julian, California : Oh the irony of it all. They call me a snow-bird back home in Anchorage for having left the sub-zero weather of Alaska for sunny California. But today my truck is parked of the side of highway 79, which is closed for 5 to 6 hours, while power line crews clear a tree that fell across the highway and onto the powerlines. So I walked home, and while my batteries hold I can post this online. Luckily I made a trip to the liquor store and the library yesterday so I'm all set.

The Desert Southwest : The other end of my winters odyssey is the desert southwest. While seemingly the opposite of Alaska it shares the same 'large canvas' feeling with it's ceaseless panoramas and stark natural beauty. And while Alaska sits in the dark 20 hours a day, I can still catch golden sunrises and sunsets if I give it just a little effort.

Fireworks : Wecome to the Fur Rondy Fireworks display of 2006. I got to visit with the pyros from Salt Lake. Fur Rondy 2007 World Championship Dog Weight Pull : I have completed the upload of about 300 images from the 2007 Fur Rondy World Championship Dog Weight pull, in Anchorage Alaska. They are posted in the order they occurred to help in identification of the weight class and amounts being pulled. If you can enter helpful comments below the image please feel free to do so for others enjoyment as well. For the best prints and to cut out the middle-man, email me directly with the file numbers and sizes that you would like. I have the original images (not the small versions uploaded) and can locally make you a wonderful print. To find the file number, slide the cursor over the image. Then a popup menu appears over the image, click the "i" for photo info, then read and write down the file number for your request. Email the file number and size and number of prints you would like to: jemark@mtaonline.net Remember all images are copywritten and it is illegal to attempt to make reproductions. The snow storm made shooting photos a bit difficult at times but here they are.
